Once upon a time......hmmmmm...so you're really expecting a fairy tale huh....
Fairy tales only exist in books and movies girl. There's no real-life fairy tale, especially in love. Not every time that a love story ends with "..and they live happily ever after.."..Because sometimes, there's still a phrase next to that...."....and had a broken heart later....".
Then that's a real-life love story. I always wonder before why girls are prone to heartache. So I tried to study myself, to understand more of my feelings, then I realized that we got hurt frequently because of how we see and define love.
When we are young, we are fond of reading fairy tales, during our teenage life, we get hooked with romance novels...so when we meet Mr. Man, we immediately play the part of the princess in fairy tales and the girl in the romance novels, unconsciously, we are expecting a story similar to the ones we read. So if we fail to have it, we got hurt and blame love. When in fact, it's not the love that we should blame nor the man for hurting us, it's ourselves for expecting too much and for our idealism in love.
Another realization that struck me is that, no matter how perfect and how much you love each other, you will never have the "perfect" relationship that you're dreaming of. Because a perfect relationship always had fights, pain and even tears. But after all of those, the love grows..it matures..and the heart learns to endure.
Hardships are there not just to test us but it's there to prepare us for more pain. Why?Because when we feel the pain, we can appreciate happiness more. And how about break ups and failed relationships? It’s there to teach us lessons. And these lessons shouldn’t be neglected. We should learn from it and used it in hard situations.
So for all the Cinderellas out there. Our Prince Charming is not perfect. So don't expect a perfect fairy tale and a perfect ending. We write our own story, so write it uniquely.
