1 and a half hour to go and my birthday will be over. I've been too excited for this day to come yet the day itself was passing like a wisp of smoke. I'm officially a lady. Not just a 21 year old girl but a 21 year old lady. But being a lady is not just about wearing lady-like dresses or talking and acting like one. For me, being a lady is learning to face any problems with ease and having the courage to trust her own decisions.
To others, I may still look like the old me. The "Ezra" who always share her smile...always having a simple happiness...may laugh with silly jokes...and who still wears jeans, blouses and slippers. You may say, "She never change." But if you want to look deeper...in the way I live my life. I assure you. I've been changed. It may not be a complete change, but I'm trying.
I celebrated my birthday the way I wanted it to be. A simple gathering of the people who have marks on my heart. Their smiles and laughters completed my day. My parents may not be here to share their happiness, but they never fail to let me feel loved despite our distance.
I can say, I can never ask for more. I have a simple but loving family, a circle of friends, a descent job and of course a loving boyfriend who is also my ultimate best friend. What more? Maybe, a continuous guidance, and blessings of good health and long life not just for me but also for my love ones, from God. I guess, I've been a very good person in my past life for having the life I have now. For that, I thank God.
My smile is for the coming years that is ahead of me. May God always walk with me.
