My parents say you’re sweet but my friends say that you’re painful. My brother says you’re fun but my boyfriend says you’re a commitment.
Books say that you’re an abstract noun, can be felt but doesn't have physical existence. The Bible says you’re patient and kind, not jealous nor boastful.
Science says that you’re the abnormal beating of the heart but romance novels say that you’re a magical feeling.
I wonder what you really are, then. But now I realized that you are very simple. You exist everywhere. Everyone felt you and you’re just in different forms. You’re the laughter and tears in the mother’s eyes. You’re the spark in lover’s minds. You’re the touch of everyone…and the shoulder of a friend.
I hope everyone can see you. I hope you can have physical existence. Maybe if you do, people won’t mistook you for something else. Then, there wouldn’t be pain. It won’t be associated with loving.
